While Jaime continues to attend and enjoy his classes here at Westfield House (his lectures at Cambridge University begin tomorrow) I have found nothing but low-pressure spare time in which to cook decent meals, catch up on some in-depth reading, and...learn to knit. I will defend myself feministically, however, in letting you all know that I have a job interview on Tuesday the 14th. So there! :) But in the meantime, odd as it is to be so domestic, I am really enjoying the ease of my days and weeks thus far. Heck, after 6 straight years of full-time study and near full-time employment, I've earned a little hiatus.
So! It looks like Jaime will be electing to audit a theological German course at Cambridge, which I think he's most excited about, and he's mentioned to his fieldwork supervisor Pastor Samiec (from Australia!) that we'd be interested in taking a fieldwork assignment in Spain over some weekend, wherein his Spanish will come in handy.
We're also continuing to think about where else we'd like to venture: Scotland, France, and various areas of Great Britain are in the foremost of our thoughts, though. And we're still waiting on fundage to arrive in the form of financial aid from the seminary in St. Louis - please pray it gets to us in a timely fashion!
At this point in the house, we are sharing the space with the following: Stephen, Jason & Erika from the Fort Wayne sem, Matt from St. Louis, Aniete from Nigeria, Celestine from Rwanda + Toby and Walda from South Africa. We've also got the Preceptor, the Curate, several Tutors and our adorable housekeeper Hilary. All in all, it's a busy house with plenty going on and lots of friendly faces. :) We're being well-kept, and we continue to sustain our good opinion of being in Cambridge.
