We have received our vicarage placement!! We cannot be much happier than we are right now, it seems like an excellent church, and excellent location, and excellent provision. The vicarage assignment begins on August 1st of this year, and ends July 31st of 2010...and it is in Cameron Park, northern California. Just 7 hours away from home, guys! Not several thousand miles! Haha.
The church is providing an apartment for us (utilities included), as well an allowance for health insurance, and a salary for Jaime (with 2 weeks paid vacation). It sounds wonderful! Cameron Park is a small community (about 25,000) but the church has a regular attendance of about 240, and it seems a lot like Yucaipa as far as weather is concerned. It's situated in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas, near Lake Tahoe, Sacramento and San Francisco.
